Preserve Your Family’s History with Care, Skill, and Heart

Old tapes, film reels, photos, and negatives hold some of the most precious moments in a family’s story — but they’re also some of the most fragile. My digitization and restoration services are designed to protect those memories before time, temperature, and age take their toll.

Every item you share with me is handled gently, respectfully, and with the same care I give my own family’s history. No AI shortcuts, no harsh filters — just skilled, human restoration and high‑quality digital preservation.

VHS & Cassette Tape Digitization

VHS transfer: $25 per tape
Cassette tape digitization available

Magnetic tape begins degrading the moment it’s made. Colors fade, audio dulls, and the tape itself becomes brittle or mold‑prone. Digitizing now protects your memories before the damage becomes permanent.

Why Digitize VHS & Cassettes

  • Prevent loss from magnetic decay
  • Protect against mold, heat, and humidity
  • Preserve family events, interviews, and home movies
  • Make old recordings easy to share with loved ones
  • Ensure playback without relying on aging VCRs or cassette decks

Your tapes are transferred with clean, stable equipment and handled with extreme care — especially if they’re irreplaceable.

8mm & Super 8 Film Transfer

8mm film transfer: $0.25 per foot

Film reels are beautiful but delicate. Over time, they become brittle, warped, or faded — and many families no longer have a projector to view them safely.

Why Digitize Film

  • Prevent further fading or color shift
  • Avoid damage from old or malfunctioning projectors
  • Capture the warmth and texture of vintage film
  • Preserve decades of family history in a modern format
  • Share precious footage with the entire family

Your reels are cleaned, inspected, and digitized with care to protect every frame.

Photo, Slide & Negative Scanning

Light photo restoration: $3 per photo
Advanced restoration: $10–$25 per photo
Scanning available for prints, slides, and negatives of any size

Photos and negatives are some of the most vulnerable items in a family archive. Sunlight, moisture, and time can cause fading, discoloration, and physical damage.

Why Digitize Photos, Slides & Negatives

  • Prevent fading and color loss
  • Protect originals from handling wear
  • Create a secure digital backup
  • Restore damaged or aged images
  • Easily share memories with family members

I scan each item at high resolution and handle every piece — especially fragile or curled photos — with patience and care.

My Gentle Restoration Philosophy

Restoration should never erase history — it should honor it.

I don’t use AI tools that alter faces, change expressions, or “guess” missing details. Every restoration is done by hand, with a careful balance of:

  • Color correction
  • Contrast and exposure adjustments
  • Dust and scratch removal
  • Repairing minor tears or damage
  • Preserving the original character of the photo

Your family’s memories remain authentic, natural, and true to the moment they were captured.

Handling Fragile or Irreplaceable Items

I understand how much trust it takes to hand over a one‑of‑a‑kind photo or a decades‑old tape. That’s why I follow a careful, respectful process:

  • Items are stored safely and labeled clearly
  • Fragile photos and negatives are handled with cotton gloves
  • Film and tapes are inspected before transfer
  • Nothing is forced through equipment
  • You’re updated if anything needs special attention

Your memories are treated as if they were my own.
